Chief Master Sgt. Raymond Allen is the Command Chief of the 168th Wing, Eielson Air Force Base, Alaska. In this position he serves as the senior enlisted advisor to the Wing Commander. Chief Allen’s responsibilities include the operational readiness, health, morale, welfare, professional development, and training of all airmen assigned to the 168th Wing, providing Air Refueling, Missile Warning and Space Surveillance, Air Sovereignty Defense, and Agile Combat Support throughout the state, and federal missions worldwide.
Chief Allen joined the U.S. Army in August of 1994. Upon completion of Basic Training and Advanced Individual Training as an Infantry Mortarman, he was stationed at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. In December 1995 Sgt Allen was stationed at Baumholder, Germany, during which time he was deployed to Bosnia as part of a Joint NATO operation. In January 1998 Chief Allen was assigned to Fort Wainwright, Alaska where he was deployed to Egypt. His next assignment came in September 2001 to Fort Campbell, Kentucky, and the 101st Airborne Division, during which time Sgt Allen deployed to Afghanistan and Iraq. In 2004 he returned to Fort Wainwright, Alaska, as a member of the Stryker Brigade Combat Team and immediately returned to Iraq. In August 2007 he enlisted in the Alaska Air National Guard as a Crew Chief in the 168th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron. He has been a lead crew chief, Flight Chief, Production Superintendent, Squadron SEL, and Group SEL. Chief Allen has deployed in support of Operations JOINT ENDEAVOR, ENDURING FREEDOM, IRAQI FREEDOM, and NOBLE EAGLE.
Prior to his current position, the Command Chief served as the Group Senior Enlisted Leader for the 168th Maintenance Group, Alaska ANG, Eielson Air Force Base, Alaska.
